Transport for London says the closure is necessary for track replacements at Plaistow and Aldgate East, alongside Crossrail work at Whitechapel. Stepney Green station is also undergoing improvements.
The same engineering will also see the Hammersmith and City lines suspended from King’s Cross St Pancras to Barking over both days.
And the Metropolitan line will be closed over the two days from King’s Cross St Pancras to Aldgate.
Meanwhile, on the Overground, travellers are being warned there is no service Highbury & Islington and Shadwell, or between Surrey Quays and New Cross this weekend.
