Assassin’s Creed Syndicate: See an ‘eagle vision’ view of London landmarks

For the first time, the time-travelling stealth gaming series Assassin’s Creed is settling on UK shores with new instalment Syndicate.

The latest game in the series, which picks a new historical setting for each game from the Crusades to the American Civil War, is set in Victorian London amid the industrial revolution, with players able to explore a recreation of the city from 1868.

To celebrate the release of the game, the Assassin’s Creed team decided to create a more literal version of the ‘eagle vision’ mode that appears in the games. Strapping a 4K HD camera to a bald eagle named Sidney, they let the bird loose in the city to soar around iconic landmarks.

Starting near the Gherkin and the Shard, Sidney flies around St. Paul’s Cathedral, takes a trip to Westminster, and ends up perched on the ramparts of the Tower of London.
