Flood alerts remain along the River Thames today as harsh winter weather continues across the UK.
The Environment Agency has issued 13 flood alerts in the region including on the Thames from Putney Bridge to Teddington Weir.
Thames water levels are expected to remain high for the next two days, with Putney Embankment, Chiswick Mall and The Embankment at Twickenham among several areas at risk of flooding.
The Thames burst its banks in several spots on Friday and Saturday, including in Richmond where cars were submerged.
The Met Office warned of scattered rain, sleet and hail showers in London and the south east, with the potential for snow on higher ground.
The worst conditions are due to strike in Northern Ireland, Scotland and north-west England, where the Met Office has issued a weather warning.
Yesterday evening a man died after being swept into the sea during gale force winds in Scarborough, North Yorkshire.
The man, aged in his 30s, was walking with his dog and a friend when they were washed into the water.
The Maritime and Coastguard Agency said weather conditions were poor with rough seas, gale-force winds and a high tide.
