Today's crush is James Reeve prints

We first embraced the print trend when Versace hit H&M.

For one week last November we walked around in a tropical mess of palm leaves before thinking better of it and filing our hysterical impulse buys under N for Never, ever wear again. We’ve dabbled in some Katrantzou for Top Shop recently too, but really it was all too garish for our chic sensibilities.

Step forward Dries Van Noten. The Belgian designer’s S/S 12 show had us ceremoniously shoving our power floral jeggings into a bin bag faster than you can say Peter Pilotto. Van Noten had printed on to his elegant black silk dresses and tops the work of a young British photographer called James Reeve.

Reeve’s nocturnal urban landscapes – the semi illuminated windows of an office block, an aerial view of a cityscape glittering with pinpricks of light – are evocative and epic and soo us.

We’d also love a giant print of one of Reeves’ ‘Lightscapes’ for our swanky minimalist loft on Redchurch Street…. Ok, so we’re still holding out for the loft but in the mean time we’ll be splurging on Dries and setting a James Reeve jpeg as our screensaver.
