As you’d expect, the Focus RS’s handling is more at home on fast, winding roads than around town or on broken surfaces. Its stiff springing and short movement really come into their own when pushing on, which is just as it should be. Fast corners are a delight, with the horsepower feeding in by the bucketful and the involving steering weighting up beautifully. Select Normal or Sport driving modes, and the car sets you up to fly through each bend, keeping the platform stiff and perfectly containing bodyroll.
