Lebanon isn’t known for making cars, but that’s where W Motors is from. And the company has just launched the Fenyr Supersport – all 900bhp of it.

Unveiled at the Dubai Motor Show, the Fenyr has a 4.0-litre flat six built by Porsche tuning house RUF. With a pair of turbos cranking up the pressure, this slingshots the car to 62mph in less than 2.7 seconds – and, if you can find somewhere to do it, keeps pushing all the way to 248.

That figure may be relevant because it gives W Motors something to aim at when they get round to building the fast version. Yes, really.

Torque is quoted at 885lb ft in ‘standard’ form – a broad hint that there’s going to be a Superdupersport along later.

No, it won’t be called that.

As it is, an alloy and carbon shell keeps it as light as can be. Prices are yet to be revealed, but W Motors intends to build 25 cars a year at its Dubai factory.
