Man found dead after rail line fall

A man has died after falling on to a railway line.

The victim, who has not been identified but is black and aged in his twenties, was found by police on the track at 6.35am yesterday at Surbiton station. The man, who was naked from the waist up, had not been hit by a train. Police believe the cause of death was electrocution.

A British Transport Police spokesman said: "CCTV footage shows the man walking off the end of the platform and he was found 50 yards beyond that point.

"We do not believe there are suspicious circumstances, but investigations into the incident are continuing."
