With his eighth album, cantankerous rodent-headed techno DJ Joel Zimmerman has gone even further in his quest to dissuade people from buying his recorded output.

Never mind yet another “will this do?” title, he’s also been tweeting about how much he dislikes it, saying it was “rushed” and “slapped together” to pay his bills.

Maybe it’s reverse psychology, for these 12 songs seem perfectly enjoyable, from the intricate melodic blips of 4ware to the moody atmospherics of Whelk Then.
