Much-hyped superhero film Batman v Superman recently received its US premiere for a select audience of critics and fans, and Twitter has since been lit up with gushing, positive responses.
The blockbuster, which comes to UK cinemas Friday March 25, following its premiere at Leicester Square tonight, is being hailed as "gut wrenching" and "amazing".
The film, which presently holds a 9.4 rating on IMDb, sees Batman (Ben Affleck) face off against Superman (Henry Cavill) after the pair are pitted against each other by Lex Luthor (Jesse Eisenberg). The two superheros later work together against a much bigger threat. Directed by Zack Snyder, who oversaw 2013’s Man of Steel, the film also stars Amy Adams as Lois Lane, and former model Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman.
Though Affleck’s casting as Batman was initially greeted with a mixed reaction, it seems fans have welcomed him and the new film with open arms. There are no spoilers in the tweets below, but be careful searching Twitter yourself – there are plenty there.
One slightly more cryptic summation read: "That movie felt like a Metallica concert..."
