Thousands of heat-related deaths worldwide every year now linked to climate change in major study

In a major new climate change report, 70 scientists are linking thousands of deaths caused by heat with man-made global warming.

Researchers from the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine and the University of Bern used simulations of climate to estimate nearly 10,000 annual deaths were linked with toxic air between 1991 and 2008.

It’s reported there were are at least 82 additional deaths in London each year from global warming and 141 in New York.

Video game developer CD Projekt reports on Monday that profits fell by more than half in the first quarter from a year earlier as its flagship Cyberpunk 2077 game was kept out of Sony’s PlayStation Store, which the company official says will continue to impact results.

CD Projekt did not say how many units of Cyberpunk 2077 it sold in the quarter, but analysts suggest sales were likely low due to Cyberpunk’s absence from the PlayStation Store and release of a major patch only in late March.

The cryptocurrency Ethereum extended gains to rise more than 8% on Monday to $2,587 but remained 40% below a record high of above $4,300 hit earlier this month.

Larger rival Bitcoin also gained in its wake, rising 3.7% to $36,977.
