X Factor 2015: Monica Michael and Max Stone booted out after double elimination and deadlock decision

Max Stone and Monica Michael were eliminated from The X Factor in the third double eviction of the series.

Max, 27 – who sang Secret Garden by Bruce Springsteen from Jerry Maguire on Saturday nights movie show – was eliminated immediately after receiving the lowest number of public votes.

Speaking about his time in the competition, Max said: “I feel really lucky to have come this far. I think it might have been the song maybe I needed a song that showed my voice more but it’s been a fun journey."

Speaking of Stone – who was brought back during the Six Chair Challenge – mentor Simon Cowell said: “Max has been a gentleman and he’s been very cool. I really got to like him he’s got a great voice a great talent. Believe in yourself because you’re going to do great.”

Monica then tackled Beyonce’s Broken Hearted Girl as she sang for survival against Anton Stephans, who performed Harold Melvin & the Blue Notes’ If You Don’t Me By Now.

Cowell took the decision to deadlock after voting to save his contestant Anton. Presenter Olly Murs then appeared to get confused and revealed that Monica had been eliminated before Caroline Flack reminded him that the decision had gone to deadlock.

It was then revealed that Monica had received the lowest number of votes and was going home.
