Grimshaw was similarly enthused, praising their “pure escapism”, while Rita Ora told the duo: “I felt like I was at Notting Hill carnival, it was so much fun”.
Former backing singer Anton Stephans had struggled earlier though, and reacted angrily to Grimshaw’s lukewarm reception to his performance of ‘One Sweet Day’.
The Radio 1 DJ had criticised Anton’s apparent lack of authentic emotion, but the 45-year-old hit back, telling Grimshaw: “This is all real - I am not an act.”
