The Apprentice 2016: Michelle Niziol fired by Alan Sugar after shambolic trading task

Michelle Niziol was the first person to be fired from The Apprentice after the shambolic first task of series 12.

The 35-year-old property consultancy owner from Oxfordshire was given her marching orders by Lord Alan Sugar after the girls’ team lost out to the boys during Wednesday night’s launch episode.

Thrown straight in at the deep end, Team Titan and Team Nebular attempted to prove their sales and negotiation skills in the first trading task.

Having chosen an array of items - some trash and some treasure - from a lock-up, the wannabe business moguls then had to have them valued and sell them at markets and antiques shops across London.

While Paul put himself forward to be Project Manager for the boys’ team, Michelle decided to throw her hat into the ring with the girls.

Unfortunately for the girls, their pricing was all over the place, which became abundantly clear when Natalie sold a pair of jugs worth £300 for just £15.

Michelle also managed to lose their van of goods en route to Camden Market, wasting precious time and turning the whole task into a shambles.

When it came to the crunch in the board room, Lord Sugar, Karren Brady and Claude Littner were left less than impressed with the girls’ efforts.

While the boys made £1,428.10 during the task, the girls made just £959 with the same stock.

“It appears to me that I was talking to a brick wall. I thought I made it perfectly clear,” said Lord Sugar.

“The important thing about this is to identify what you have there and to establish some kind of pricing policy, in order to know what you can go and sell it for. And according to Claude, you just made it up as you went along.”
