Strictly Come Dancing 2015: Peter Andre secures double 10 for ‘absolutely exceptional’ charleston

Peter Andre kicked off Saturday night’s Strictly Come Dancing with an “absolutely exceptional” Charleston to Do Your Thing.

Andre, 42, received two tens from Darcey Bussell and Len Goodman - and a high score of 38 - following the performance, with professional Janette Manrara.

Goodman gave Andre a standing ovation before telling him: “First out, first class. Your best dance. That was fantastic.”

Bruno Tonioli praised his “scissor action” saying: “You embraced the character and became somebody else. The scissor action was excellent.”

Even Craig Revel Horwood – who last week said Andre had lost the “it factor” – branded the dance “absolutely exceptional”, but couldn’t resist giving one critique, saying there was “over balance on the lift at the end”.

Bussell praised the dance and told Andre: “I could nearly mistake you as a professional out there.”
