Strictly Come Dancing 2015: Iwan Thomas first celebrity to be eliminated after 'stompy' cha-cha

Iwan Thomas became the first celebrity to leave this year's Strictly Come dancing after failing to impress the judges in a dance off against Jamelia.

The former Commonwealth Games champion found himself at the bottom of the leaderboard after Saturday night's show following his "Neanderthal" cha-cha to Sexy and I Know It and was unable to win over the judges on Sunday night.

Despite his best efforts he was sent home after competing with Jamelia's cha-cha to Don't Cha with partner Tristan MacManus.

Speaking about his time in the competition, Thomas said: "I've loved every minute of it. Training with Ola's been amazing every day. Thank you judges. Everyone is so nice. I'm going to miss everyone so much. I don't want to go home."

His dance partner Ola Jordan described him as a "wonderful person" and praised his efforts.

"I absolutely love dancing with you," she said. "You are a wondeful person to be working with. I loved it."

Peter Andre topped the leader board with his "imaginative" quick step to Valerie after scores from last week and this Saturday were added together, while Jay McGuinness bagged the highest score of the weekend after impressing the judges with his "elegant" waltz.
