Strictly Come Dancing 2015: Ainsley Harriott booted off after losing dance-off to Jamelia

TV presenter Ainsley Harriott was forced to shake rattle and roll out of the Strictly Come Dancing ballroom after failing to impress the judges with his “haphazard” jive on Sunday night.

Harriott, 58, was the fifth celebrity to lose his place in the BBC dancing competition following his jive with Natalie Lowe to Bill Haley and the Comets’ Shake Rattle and Roll.

Darcey Bussell deemed it entertaining but told Harriott it needed cleaning up, while fellow judge Craig Revel Horwood said: "It does need to be more technical at this point. Flat footed, heavy, too into the ground. Everything was haphazard I didn't enjoy it sadly."

Despite his best efforts, the judges voted to save Jamelia and her partner Tristan McManus who danced the foxtrot to Because You Loved Me by Celine Dion

Speaking about his time on the BBC competition the former Ready Steady Cook presenter said: "I'm sad that it can't continue but there were a couple of mistakes. I'm so sad for you Natalie. I wanted to push on a little bit more but unfortunately it wasn't to be."

Lowe said of Harriott: "I think you're one of the loveliest men I've ever met. Evreyone speaks so highly of you. You're such a gentleman and you've been a dream to work with. You've done me proud every week."
