The disgraced beauty queen did nothing to dispel the stereotype of an empty-headed WAG, by proudly showing off a claret and blue shirt with her beau's name to fellow housemates. Then the 23-year-old curled up in bed with a surrogate footballing fella, her very own teddy bear.

Judging by last night's show, watched by 7.1 million people - up on last year's series - we are not so sure the 41-year-old former England international will look forward to training today. Although it may provide a bit of light relief for his miserable teammates who are languishing at the foot of the Premiership after a disastrous season.

Lloyd was last year stripped of her Miss Great Britain crown after it was revealed she had been dating Sheringham, who was on the panel of judges. Her arrival last night was greeted by a chorus of boos and catcalls from the Big Brother crowd at the house in Elstree studios.

It is rumoured that former Big Brother contestant, and fellow intellectual lightweight, Jade Goody could also be making a guest appearance. Goody, 25, was noted for her famous verbal gaffes while on the show in 2002. She thought Rio de Janeiro was a footballer and Sherlock Holmes invented the toilet.

But she could have a rival in Lloyd, who proved her footballer's wife credentials recently on BBC quiz show Test The Nation.

When asked "Who was Winston Churchill: a rapper, US President-the PM or King?", Lloyd answered: "Wasn't he the first black president of America? There's a statue of him near me - that's black."
