Emma Lavelle's six-year-old marked himself as a horse to follow when finishing second to the ill-fated Backspin in the Challow Hurdle at Newbury in December before following up that effort with a wide-margin win in a Grade Two event at Warwick.
Court In Motion had no answer to Back In Focus at the Merseyside track, though, running a bit flat in very testing ground conditions.While he likes a bit of cut, Court In Motion can do himself justice on better going, too, and is worth a chance at the highest level.
Sports Line was judged good enough to run in the Arkle last year and he is something of an unknown quantity in the Johnny Henderson Grand Annual Chase Challenge Cup. He fell well short in the Arkle before finishing third in a top-class event at Punchestown.
But dropped to handicap company here, he can break a 16-month barren spell.
