Woodward will begin planning his Six Nations campaign around his undisputed captain with effect from a two-day training session next week. 'I don't think it will make any difference to how Martin will play against Wales,' said Woodward. 'He'll be raring to go. He'll be in great shape, fitter and fresher than he'd otherwise be. He has done an exceptional job as England captain and thoroughly deserves the honour of continuing. 'I'm disappointed for him and his club, but he transgressed and has to cope with suspension. I think the sentence is fair. 'I don't think what he did warranted my even considering taking the captaincy from him. It never crossed my mind.' Ironically, Johnson's reaffirmation as captain coincided with his predecessor suffering another shoulder blow. Dawson, who won four of his five matches in charge of England last season, is to see a specialist today after damaging a shoulder during Northampton's Premiership defeat at Bath. The scrum half will play no further part in his club's ill-fated European Cup defence in the coming two weeks but banished fears last night of his missing the Wales match. 'The X-rays showed that the shoulder is structurally sound,' he said.'It's just soft tissue damage.
