Fortunately for Telford tomorrow, they will not have to battle with Wise's experience on the pitch as he is suspended for the FA Cup fourth-round tie.
But the Conference side, who knocked out Crewe in the third round, should be concerned about the rest of his team.
The Telford players were disappointed when they drew Millwall and their unhappiness cannot have been down only to the fact they did not get a Premiership big club.
Chances are that Telford are not overly confident of pulling off a giant-killing act against a First Division side who are beginning to look as if they came from the Wise mould.
They play good football and pass the ball around like their manager, but they can be nasty like him too.
The 37-year-old said: "You do whatever you can to win the game.
"I want my players to be strong, strong in tackles, to be in people's faces and I want them to stand up.
"But people misunderstand. I don't mind if my players win their tackles and get booked. That is not a problem for me. I won't be fining people for tackling, but I will for swearing at the referee or throwing a tantrum on the pitch.
"If you work extremely hard to get it back as a group then some tackles will be mistimed and I have not got a problem with that.
"They have been working hard and that is one of the reasons we are doing very well.
"We are also playing well and passing the ball and those two things mean a lot."
Wise has only been in charge at Millwall for three months but he feels like he is getting the hang of it. At first he found it hard to combine playing and managing but assistant manager Ray Wilkins shoulders a large part of the burden and Wise is coping.
He did not enjoy telling his team-mates Stuart Nethercott and Ronnie Bull they would not be offered new contracts and recruiting players has been tough.
But he has got Danny Dichio on loan from West Brom and the striker is hoping to earn a permanent move. Dichio is available to play at Telford but midfielder Tim Cahill is suspended.
Security for the 6,000 crowd at Telford will be tight and the atmosphere a little different to what Wise's players are used to, but the manager is confident of their prospects.
He said: "It is a good chance for us to get into the next round and we want to go as far as we can.
"Telford are standing in our way and will be in our faces.
"It is the sort of game I would like to play in and it will not be a problem for the players I will have out there.
"They are looking forward to it and I have told them they will have to give 110 per cent because Telford will lift their game.
"We don't want to be on the end of a giant killing."
