Wise, who was the most successful skipper in Chelsea's history, refused to comment on the club he has left behind. It is well recorded that he did not see eye-to-eye with his manager Claudio Ranieri, although he refused to elaborate.
He said: 'It wasn't a difficult decision to leave. I made that at the end of the season.
'I didn't want to be a bit-part player. And under the current manager it didn't look like I would be playing in my natural position.
'I left Chelsea on good terms. It was simply time to move on. It was nothing to do with them signing loads of foreigners.
'I've got some great memories and I'll take them with me. But for now I'm a Leicester City player and I know they are well capable of getting into Europe and winning cups. I hope I can help them achieve that.'
