"We want to stay with him because we feel comfortable working with him. We think a lot of him as a chairman and get on well with him."
Paphitis is pleased with the what Wise and assistant manager Wilkins have done since they took over from Mark McGhee last October.
He has admitted that Millwall may struggle to keep them if a big club makes an approach but dismissed the possibility of Bates taking Wise to Wednesday. Paphitis said: "Dennis is happy with us and we are happy with him. We are very honest with each other and he asked me if I was going to be here next season because it affected him.
"I will be at Millwall and so will he and that is as far as we can look at the moment."
Wise is set to start his first game in three weeks as Millwall go for their fifth consecutive win in tomorrow's game at Walsall.
He came off the bench during Wednesday's 1-0 win over Wimbledon after David Livermore limped off with a shin injury.
It was Wise's first appearance since injuring his knee in the 0-0 FA Cup draw against Tranmere and, after coming through the midweek game unscathed, he is expected to start.
Walsall may give a debut to winger Jermaine McSporran, signed on loan from Wycombe.
