Williamson has China in her sights

Alison Williamson today hinted she could go to Beijing for her fifth Olympics in 2008, after finally tasting medal glory.

The trainee teacher won an archery bronze yesterday with a last-arrow win over Chinese Taipei's Shun Chi Yuan amid the inspiring surroundings of the ancient Panathinaiko stadium.

Her success in her fourth Olympics has left her contemplating one last shot at the gold in China, when she will be 36. But she said her age won't be a consideration.

"It's undecided," she said. "It's not necessarily a young person's sport and if I didn't compete in another Olympics it wouldn't be an age decision, it would be a lifestyle decision."

Although she is lottery funded, Williamson still faces a struggle to stay competitive and she admitted: "About a year ago I thought that Athens would be the end of the road for me. But this year I have had some bigger results so I still think maybe there's more to come.

"It takes time and money dedicating yourself to something no one knows anything about. There have been times since Sydney when I've contemplated whether it's worth it, and yes it is!"
