SportWilliams demands Sprott rematch after points rowDavid Smith|Evening Standard14 April 2012Danny Williams today submitted a formal demand for a rematch with British heavyweight championship conqueror Michael Sprott.Adam Booth, Williams's manager, was incensed that referee Dave Parris's scorecard of 115-114 favoured Sprott after 12 rounds at Wembley last September. The British Boxing Board of Control ordered a rematch after Williams claimed a win-double over Sprott despite landing a series of low blows, but a fourth encounter is unlikely."This time there was a controversy over the scoring," said Booth. "With no obvious mandatory challenger, who would you nominate next for Sprott?"One answer was offered by Frank Warren, Sprott's co-manager, who believes he should defend the belts against the winner of Julius Francis and the unbeaten Matt Skelton at York Hall.Warren said: "If Skelton does beat Francis I would think the Board would nominate him as the next guy anyway."
