Why Vos will only have eyes for Quins

Andre Vos will have only one thing on his mind at 1pm tomorrow and it won't be the England v South Africa confrontation, which promises to give the World Cup its first true clash of rugby's titans.

He certainly has an interest. Indeed, Vos captained South Africa in 16 of his 32 internationals, the last of which was in December 2001. But, tomorrow, it is his current responsibility as captain of Harlequins which takes precedence.

Quins officials are opening the gates at The Stoop at 11.30am so fans can watch the game there before turning their attention to Harlequins' clash with Gloucester. Kick-off has been put back half-an-hour to 3.30pm to allow some extra breathing space following the end of the England match.

Vos, however, will not be peeking at the action from Perth. "We always meet up at 1pm for home matches," he said. "That's when we start our preparations and tomorrow must be no different. We are professionals and, as captain, I will be making sure we do exactly the same. But I will set my video before I leave home. I'll watch it later."

Quins are second in the Premiership, four points behind leaders Bath, while Gloucester are third.

Vos added: "We have had a good start to the season, but we now have three of our next four games at home so we have a massive opportunity to push on."

Hooker Ace Tiatia (calf) is out for four weeks, and centre Josh Taumololo (hamstring) is also absent. Tani Fuga replaces Tiatia, Andy Reay comes into the centre and Simon Keogh is due to start on the wing.
