And chief designer Rory Byrne, a significant contributor to all seven of Schumacher's titles driving for Benetton and Ferrari, has already taken a back seat ahead of retiring next season. The F2005 Ferrari is the work of Italian Aldo Costa, and it has lacked the technical excellence of Byrne's work.
