The German's stunning start continues. In holding off a late challenge from Lewis Hamilton, Vettel secured the Spanish Grand Prix and in turn made it four victories in five races.

It was clear from Vettel's scream on the slowing-down lap how pleased he was, with the 23-year-old yelling: "Yabba-dabba-dee!"

"He really made our strategy work," Red Bull team principle Christian Horner told the official Formula 1 website. "He had to be aggressive on the undercut because he had to pass Jenson [Button] and Felipe [Massa]. So it was an unbelievable drive from him."

Casualty of the weekend - Carlo Ancelotti

Forget Fergie's infamous hair-dyer treatment, the king of the half-time homily is Sexton - at least he was at the weekend.

With his side down 22-6 to Northampton at half-time in the Heineken Cup final, Sexton inspired his Leinster troops with a speech that sent shivers down the spine of his team-mates, as they eventually prevailed 33-22.

"We were shell-shocked and needed leaders," said Sexton, who became the second-highest points scorer in a Heineken Cup final with his tally of 28. "I said comebacks happen in finals - I knew we could come back. When a team gets a score and gets the momentum going it is hard to stop. It was like a snowball effect."
