Whitgift coast through to face Millfield

Whitgift Under 15s were weakened by injury and illness but still proved too strong for for Judd, winning 34-5 to set up a home quarter-final against Millfield, who ended Plymouth College's controversial progress by edging through 12-5.

Plymouth, of course, are the side who lost to Torquay Boys inthe fifth round but were given a replay on the basis of a technicality regarding the appointment of a referee. Whitgift played some outstanding rugby, especially in the first half and five of their tries were shared between full back and wingers.

The pack played with fire and determination to provide quality possession for their backs. Captain Billy Lamb openedthe scoring with a successful penalty and this was followed quickly by two exceptional tries from full back Nick Canty. In the second half, wingers Dominic Lespierre and Jonathan Gill (2) scored tries and fly half Daniel Cipriani kicked three difficult conversions.
