Whitehead show he's a Premier target

Whitehead gave a composed performance behind a powerful pack, kicking from hand with great accuracy, prompting his three quarters to good effect and scoring a well taken try.

Elsewhere for the visitors, centre Andrew McDarby and full back Mark Vincent, who scored a try a piece, made a series of dazzling breaks when hitting the line at pace and blind side flanker John Ruxton was the pick of the forwards, repeatedly punching holes in the home sides over-stretcheddefence.

It was Ruxton whose pass released Phil Crawley for Campion's final try. But Whitgift at least managed a late consolation, substitute Jamie Crawford rounding off a flick passing move with a dash to the corner.

Campion coach Chris Jones was full of praise for Whitehead, saying: 'He's got good touches, kicks well and passes well off both hands. He is a quality player and I hope there is a future for him in rugby after school.'

The victory set up the chance to avenge last season's quarter-final defeat by St Peter's, Gloucester.

'I think the players will be very motivated for that game, ' added Jones.

'If we play with intensity and a bit of direction we will give any side a game.'
