Wembley report row

The secret report into Wembley which caused uproar among MPs yesterday will be made public.

Talks were today taking place between the key parties after the Culture, Media and Sport select committee called for it to be published. Standard Sport has learned that the findings, made by Wembley's former project managers Tropus and investigated by City troubleshooter David James, will be published except for commercially sensitive material relating to current negotiations.

James cleared Wembley National Stadium Limited, the FA-run company that owns the site, of any corruption or criminal activity but said the report raised concerns about management of the scheme that will cost up to £715 million.

The select committee, chaired by Labour MP Gerald Kaufman, was fuming after WNSL provided the report with names and job titles of key individuals blacked out claiming confidentiality.
