We still need another centre-half, insists Terry

John Terry has urged Jose Mourinho to sign an experienced centre-back to complete Chelsea's new-look squad.

Head coach Mourinho is considering a move for AC Milan's Fabrizio Coloccini but Terry feels they need a player with more experience than the 22-year-old Argentine.

Portuguese centre-backs Ricardo Carvalho and Jorge Andrade have both been linked with moves to Stamford Bridge and, with 19-year-old Robert Huth the only back-up to William Gallas and Terry, the Chelsea captain would welcome a new arrival of their stature.

He said: "We need another centre-half now that Marcel Desailly has gone. Robert's capable of doing a good job but there's going to be a lot of games this year. Hopefully we'll go along way in the Champions League so could do someone with a bit of experience to step in.

"I've spoken to the manager about it and we definitely need someone.

"Not everyone can play every game. Last year I played 58 games and if we've got another centre-half, the manager's got a different option."

Terry was confirmed as Chelsea captain last week but does not think his appointment will guarantee him a place in the side.
