He added: "Chelsea are lucky to have somebody like Jose Mourinho, who is not just a big character but, above all else, a very successful manager.
"Many factors may have contributed to his amazing success but everyone has to accept that most of it is down to Mourinho being a very good coach.
"But our run in the Champions League has been tremendous this season and now that we have made the last four, we all know we have the chance to be European champions. If we maintain our form in Europe we can win the Champions League. I am sure of it."
Alonso, who has scored two goals in the Premiership in his debut season since arriving at the club from Real Sociedad in August, explained that Liverpool's strategy will be simple.
He added: "Our plan is to get a good result in London, scoring at least one goal, and then to finish the job at Anfield. I don't think there are any mysteries to beating Chelsea. They are an excellent team but they are not unbeatable."
