We must close them down, says Jason

When we line up for the kick-off on Saturday, I shall have no problem identifying the single biggest obstacle to the first Grand Slam of the Six Nations - my Lions room-mate Brian O'Driscoll.

It's strange to think that we spent the last week of the Australian tour sharing a hotel room in Sydney, united in the common goal of trying to win a Test series for Great Britain and Ireland.

Three months later, and here we are on opposite sides with another huge prize at stake.

It's stranger still to think that when I left league for union this time last year I had never even heard of Brian O'Driscoll.

Well, I certainly have now and we are going to have to take enormous care that he doesn't produce the kind of magical try which he scored for the Lions in Brisbane in the summer. If you didn't know any better, you could be fooled by Brian's appearance, which tends to be very deceptive. Looking at him, you wouldn't think he could play the way he does - but give him any kind of room at all and he is capable of scoring from anywhere.

He's a good lad as well as a good player. As room-mates, 'Drisco' would complain that it took me ages to shave in the morning and then he'd take it out on me at table tennis, although by the end of the tour I did manage to beat him a few times.

With a draw not being enough for us to win the Slam, there has to be a loser on Saturday and I'm hoping that Brian will end up complaining about another close shave!

The beauty about the Lions tour was that it enabled me to make new friends, especially the Irish lads like O'Driscoll, Ronan O'Gara and the fearless Keith Wood.
