Wasps were at their previous home ground, Loftus Road, for six years, having previously enjoyed 70 years at their old Sudbury ground during their amateur days.
The players enjoyed playing at Queens' Park Rangers' ground, but the 19,000-seater stadium was usually too large for the 5000-plus fans to create a truly great atmosphere.
A full house at Wycombe of 10,000 looks a more attainable target and fly-half Alex King is delighted at the switch.
He said: "The buzz is even better than when we went to Loftus Road.
"The pitch is brilliant, bigger than Loftus Road, a bit wider and it will make for great running rugby.
"We are expecting some good things to happen out there."
Wasps are offering a 20 per cent reduction on Chiltern Railways tickets to High Wycombe. There are also bus links from the station and park-and-ride schemes.
But to fill Adams Park, which Wasps share with Nationwide League Second Division side Wycombe Wanderers, Wasps have to be playing well and be capable of beating the top half-dozen clubs in the Premiership.
Wasps also hope star players - captain Lawrence Dallaglio and new recruit Rob Howley - will draw in the crowds.
Dallaglio is keen to enjoy a full season after missing most of the last campaign with a serious knee injury.
But former Lions scrum-half and Wales captain Howley will be playing club rugby in England for the first time after making the move from Cardiff.
Howey was one of four first-team players laid low by the bug at the club earlier this week which caused coach Warren Gatland to call off training yesterday.
But the Welshman and the others affected - prop Craig Dowd, wing Kenny Logan and hooker Jonny Barrett - are all expected to be fit for Sunday's match.
