Lara, the former West Indies captain, holds the records for the highest Test and first class scores but his form has been so poor recently that last week Cheshire League side Audley Edge rejected his offer to turn out for them this summer.
Now Noble's offer has been passed informally to Lara by his old West Indies World Cup captain Richardson, and the money-no-object bid has been backed up over the past few days by faxes sent to the West Indies tour hotels in Australia.
Speaking from his headquarters in Antigua, Noble said: "My support for Lashings is because they have given several young West Indian players a chance to develop their game in England. For them to have an opportunity to play cricket with Brian Lara would be an unforgettable experience.
"It's non-pressure cricket at grass roots level. He could relax and enjoy himself and have a lot of fun."
