Vaughan upbeat about qualifying

Michael Vaughan is confident England will qualify for the Natwest Series final despite having only one win and three defeats so far.

England must beat the West Indies and secure a bonus point at Lord's tomorrow to get through but the captain remains upbeat.

Vaughan said: "We're not too disappointed at losing to a very good New Zealand side. We always knew the West Indies was the crucial game. We're really up for tomorrow's game and if we win we're in the final. There's no better incentive than that." After winning all three of their completed games, New Zealand are already guaranteed a place in the final and can relax ahead of Thursday's meeting with the West Indies at Southampton.

Stephen Fleming's side appear a different team to the demoralised tourists who lost the Test series 3-0 and the Kiwi captain said: "We're through to the final and are delighted about that.

"We want to keep the winning habit and if we can get through the tournament unbeaten it well help heal some of the wounds from the Test series."
