"It's always nice to save a penalty, but I've never saved two in a row before. In Holland I'm not that well known as a penalty killer but maybe I'm still learning."
After a lacklustre first-half Villa went ahead 10 minutes after the interval when Angel directed a glancing header beyond Van der Sar.
The visitors should have extended their lead and secured three points when Luke Moore was twice upended in the Fulham penalty area twice in the final 15 minutes, but Angel was unable to take advantage.
"The second penalty he had exactly the same run in as the first one so I thought I'm going the same way," said Van der Sar. "Though I thought the first one was a really good stop he struck it well and it went a bit low."
However, with Fulham struggling for fluency it looked as though Angel's profligacy would go unpunished. But when Boa Morte's shot was only half-cleared, Clark crashed home his first goal for 15 months with seconds remaining.
The result means that Fulham have stretched their unbeaten run to eight, though Clark is aware that record will come to an end at Liverpool on Saturday unless they show a marked improvement.
"We know it's going to be tough at Anfield," said the Fulham captain.
