Unsettled Konchesky weighs up options

Paul Konchesky is prepared to stay at Charlton but wants an extended run in the team.

The 23-year-old has been unsettled since handing in a transfer request nearly two years ago and is not ruling out a move in the summer.

But he has come to terms with the fact that Alan Curbishley wants him in midfield rather than his favoured leftback position.

Konchesky made only his sixth start of the season in the 2-1 FA Cup fifth round home defeat by Leicester. He has played in the last three games and said: "As far as I am concerned I am still with Charlton and nothing will change until the end of the season.

"I am contracted here for another two years. Nothing happened during January and everything is settled now for another six months.

"If the club do not wish to sell me in the summer then I will be happy. But any player wants to be on the field. I am playing well at the moment and I want to be starting games."
