Todd takes care not to reopen old wounds

Derby manager Colin Todd chose his words carefully as he savoured Saturday's 1- 0 victory over Bolton, the club he left two years ago.

It still rankles with Todd that, soon after his departure, Bolton refused him a directors' box ticket to watch his son Andy play.

He declined to attend Saturday's post-match Press conference but later he was the model of diplomacy, saying: 'I did have good years at Bolton and I'm happy that I helped put the club on the road to recovery.

' Their manager Sam Allardyce has done a great job. They are such a difficult side to play against now and I think they are good enough to survive.

'But the most important thing for me is Derby County. The table is becoming increasingly open and we are progressing. We are keeping clean sheets without being negative.

' The signs were there against Newcastle and Liverpool and now we're off to Old Trafford where we need to keep that sort of determination going.'
