Threat of relegation is almost behind us, claims McAnuff

Jobi McAnuff is confident that Watford have put the past behind them as they aim to secure Championship safety by the end of the month.

A run of three successive 2-0 victories has given the Hornets a five-point breathing gap at the bottom of the table.

The football has not always been pretty, but the winning mentality of manager Brendan Rodgers is certainly being reflected in his players as they enter the final stages of the campaign.

Watford head to Plymouth this evening and midfielder McAnuff believes the pain of backroom struggles and poor results on the pitch are being laid to rest.

"I think this is a new era now," he said. "We can't stop looking over our shoulders yet because the teams around us are still winning.

"But it's a big month ahead and we hope we will be able to relax soon."
