"I want to have some trophies at the end of my career, firstly the League title and secondly the Champions League. As a player you dream of winning things and when you don't it's frustrating."
Chelsea's frustration was increased by the fact that they briefly looked like securing the 2-0 victory required to secure their place in the final after Frank Lampard added to Jesper Gronkjaer's opener on the stroke of half-time. But Iberra's controversial goal in first half injury-time was a major blow.
Terry added: "It's very frustrating because it was a great night for everyone connected with Chelsea, the fans and the players. It's a dream to play in such a late stage of the competition and it was our dream to go all the way, but it's not to be. There's always next year. It'll take a couple of games to get this out of our system. but we need to forget the game as quickly as possible."
Terry's disappointment was echoed by Gronkjaer, who admitted that his fluke opening goal was intended as a cross.
He said: "We've achieved quite a lot, but haven't won anything."
Although Jose Mourinho, the first choice for the Chelsea job, was at Stamford Bridge last night in his capacity as coach of Porto, it is understood he did not meet club officials at the game.
The deal for him to arrive next season is reported to have been done, but nothing has been signed and is unlikely to be until after the Champions League final at the end of May.
