The end of Wimbledon is in sight as the women’s singles reaches the semi-final stage, with the Williams sisters battling to secure a fifth matchup in the final.
Serena Williams remains the commanding favourite to claim the title and the No1 seed will be confident of making short work of the unseeded Russian Elena Vesnina.
However the six-time champion would be wise to be wary of the threat posed by the 29-year-old, who dropped just four games in her quarter-final win over 19th seed Dominika Cibulkova.
Following the match on Centre Court Venus Williams, seeded eighth, will face No4 seed Angelique Kerber, looking to reach her second Grand Slam final of the year having already stunned Serena Williams in the Australian Open.
