Struggling Inler moved to Meehan yard

One-time 2,000 Guineas prospect Inler has been removed from John Best's stable and has joined Brian Meehan at Manton.

Owned in partnership by the Sangster Family and professional gambler Harry Findlay, Inler failed to fire in the Guineas and then flopped badly in a conditions event at Newbury subsequently.

Findlay said: "Inler has gone to Manton. His run at Newbury was too bad to be true, especially from what we've seen from him at home. We just thought that an environmental change would do him good and there is no better place to train a horse than at Manton, where the facilities are tremendous."

The Sangster Family own Manton and Findlay was keen to stress that there was no ill-feeling over the departure. He added: "He just hasn't fired and he'll be out for a while. He's not been himself and we'll have to give him a bit of time."

Kevin Prendergast has ruled Termagant out of the Investec Oaks after her disappointing ninth to Bethrah in Sunday's Irish 1,000 Guineas.

But the Kildare trainer hopes the filly can earn her second Group One victory in the Irish Pretty Polly Stakes at the Curragh on 26 June. Prendergast said: "We're not going to go to Epsom, because she was disappointing. She never travelled and we suspect the ground was extra firm. It could be that way again at Epsom, so we'll keep her back and run in the Pretty Polly."
