Spurs deny any interest in Croatian

Tottenham say they have not made any enquiry about Dynamo Kiev midfielder Jerko Leko even though the player and his agent claim the club have contacted them.

Leko says he's received a telephone call from Spurs about a possible move to London and his agent said they were willing to pay £6.3million to sign him.

But a Tottenham spokesman said: "We have not made an enquiry about the Croatian international."

Meanwhile, Japanese international Kazuyuki Toda wants a move to Dutch side Den Haag, where he is having a trial. The 25-year-old has made only two appearances since his move in January and Spurs will not be renewing his contract beyond the end of this month.

Toda said: "I have 10 days to train with the club, so I will do whatever I can to impress the coaches."

Spurs keeper Lars Hirschfeld has gone on trial with Second Division Plymouth Argyle who want to thrash out a loan deal. Argyle boss Paul Sturrock said: "If we like what we see, we'll be able to take him on loan."
