"I think it's a disgrace, as I think it was a disgrace the way Harry was treated."
Liverpool fans would probably disagree.
Pele has flopped this time
Pele, famous for being rather good at football and the catchphrase 'I know I would', this week emerged from a helicopter on the Santos pitch with Robinho.
According to Brazil's greatest No10, "Robinho will be a great example for the younger players at Santos".
Just as he was for that Viagra ad, Pele appears to have been badly advised. When the player demanded to leave Real Madrid for Manchester City, Santos president Marcelo Teixeira said: "This is one of the most disgraceful episodes in Brazilian football history."
And Santos boss Jose Fernando said the club were "ashamed of having produced such a player". Clearly.
TV a turn off for Bendtner
No wonder Arsenal's Nicklas Bendtner believes he can become "one of the world's greatest strikers" - he doesn't actually watch football.
In a recent match programme, the Denmark striker tells us: "Apart from Arsenal, I don't ever watch football on TV at home - I don't have Sky TV anyway."
On the facing page is a big advert for, you guessed it, Sky Sports.
Twitter of the week
No space for some of my clothes so will leave behind. Anyone need Test cricket clothing? I'm happy to give it . . . will even sign them. - Chris Gayle needs a bigger suitcase Down Under but you can't fault him for generosity.
