If only Johnson's men could pleasantly surprise the rest of us this weekend and finally produce a performance that isn't mind-numbingly boring.
Padraig's date with Obama
Three-Time major championship winner Padraig Harrington will be a guest of President Barack Obama at the White House next week to celebrate St Patrick's Day.
With perfect comic timing, the amiable Irishman informed reporters on Wednesday he'd been invited.
"I got an invite to go to the White House," said Harrington. "I won't say it's perfectly convenient but it's worked out as I'm in the States. I'll meet the President — it's very nice.
"You want to meet these people and get your own judgment. You can tell a lot when you meet somebody and plus, I've never been to the White House."
Manuel backing? Er, adios
Manuel Pellegrini has been given the dreaded vote of confidence following Real Madrid's dismal Champions League exit against Lyon. Unfortunately for the Chilean coach, it can mean only one thing — bye, bye Bernabeu.
Director General Jorge Valdano said after Real's miserable failure: "He has a contract, which is why the club's plans are for Manuel to continue. We respect him and we trust in his work. We are not going to exaggerate the situation on the basis of one match."
After a £200million summer outlay and a history of impatience, expect Real, who are top of La Liga, to exaggerate the situation on the basis of one match.
Twitter of the week
Who would play Colly in a film about the Ashes? Perry Groves? Paul Scholes? Bianca from EastEnders? A Duracell battery? Serial Tweeter Graeme Swann gets some early shots in after team-mate Paul Collingwood finally signs up to Twitter.
