British Olympian Michael Whitaker admits that having other showjumpers in his family can only be a positive influence on him ahead of next summer's Olympic Games.
Showjumper Whitaker, who won silver in the team event at the 1984 Olympics, has four family members involved in the sport and believes the support network is helpful.
"It's an advantage having so many of them around," said the 51-year-old. "You've always got someone to talk to if things aren't going right. You get an honest opinion."
Whitaker is competing at the London International Horse Show this weekend and will use the experience to prepare for his push for gold at London 2012.
"I've got a very good horse (Gig Amai) but he's had a small injury," added Whitaker. "He'll be back [for the Olympics]. I've got a shot at winning. It's not the competing, it's the winning [that matters]. That's the target."
