Sousa staying positive

Paulo Sousa shrugged off QPR's continuing goal woes despite his side drawing a blank for a seventh successive away clash.

Sousa tasted defeat for the first time since taking charge at Loftus Road as Leon Clarke's 75th-minute strike earned Sheffield Wednesday a 1-0 victory. But the Portugese refused to condemn his shot-shy strikers after yet another shut-out.

Sousa said: "I am not worried because I am a positive person and I believe my players can pass this moment and get the confidence to score.

"I would be much more worried if we were not creating opportunities but we need to be more aggressive in front of goal. When you control a game and create chances I am happy but we must now believe more in front of goal.

"I feel we should have got something out of the game. But these are games you have to win."

Martin Rowlands's penalty miss summed up Rangers' problems in front of goal but the manager was quick to defend the midfielder. He added: "Of course it was a great opportunity for him to score but I have every confidence in him and Martin will bounce back."
