Fans at the All England Club this year face a series of unprecedented security measures amid concerns over a possible terrorist attack.
Picnic hampers will have to be left outside the tennis complex in the morning and collected at lunchtime.
For the first time, there will be random body searches by staff throughout the two-week event.
There will also be a larger police presence in response to the dangers posed by what a Wimbledon spokesman called the 'general world climate at the moment'.
Spectators are being warned they will require 'a bit of patience' this year.
