SportSantini too pricey for us, say SpursDaily Mail Staff14 April 2012Tottenham have made it clear to French coach Jacques Santini that his £ 1.5million salary demands would be too much for them.Representatives of Santini, who has taken France on a 100 per cent winning qualification to Euro 2004, had already sounded out Spurs, letting them know his financial demands and were told they were unacceptable.A source close to Santini's negotiators said: 'It was made clear that Spurs thought £1.5m a year was a bit too high as they already had agreement from another coach to do the job for £500,000 a year.'Santini's is keen to get his future sorted out before the Euro 2004 Championship starting in June and after which his current deal finishes.Santini says: 'I have always thought that one day I might manage abroad and the Tottenham job would interest me.'French midfielder Stephane Dalmat has returned to Inter Milan following Tottenham's decision to cancel his loan.
